My First Circle Journal
Seven of us over at Scrapaholics have started a Circle Journal. It's my first time doing one. I love the idea! It will take appoximately 8 months to complete. We each create an album with a specific theme. At the front of each album is an instruction page on how we would like our friends to go about adding their pages to our album. Then, a sign in page for everyone in the circle to sign in and then a two page layout based on that theme. Each month we pass the journals on to the next person until everyone has had a chance to complete their portion. In the end, our journals are returned to us and we end up with a beautiful completed album. It's a great way to get to know our friends a little better. My journal is based on Scrapbooking of course lol; why you enjoy scrapbooking, your favourite place to scrap is, your favourite products etc. There are many different themes of course. Right now I'm working on Karen's. Her topic is A Day in the Life of Friends. I'll create a two page layout for her including photos and journalling about a typical day in my life. I can't wait to see what everyone else's themes are! Cool eh? Start one of your own! It's lots of fun!
Only one more day to sign up for my blog candy. I'll be drawing the name of the lucky winner tomorrow evening. Click on this link to sign up. I'll announce the winner tomorrow evening at 9 pm PST. Good luck to everyone who's playing!

Some Layouts from my Crop Day
I had a great time scrapping with my girlfriends on Sunday. As usual we had lots of laughs and got a lot done! Here's a few of the layouts I did. I'm in the scrappin mood and created a couple more layouts tonight that I will post tomorrow.
Don't forget to check out my Blog Candy in my April 18th post. I'll be drawing the lucky winner this Sunday, April 26th! Thanks for stopping by :)

Blog Candy
How 'bout a little fun for my scrappin buddies? A few weeks ago, at Timberline Retreat, Diane generously gave away Heidi Swapp's "Love Your Handwriting" as a special door prize. I thank her for that but have to admit that I already purchased one for myself a little while back so I'd like to pass on my gift as some yummy blog candy. Now....let's see, to make this a little more interesting, I'd love to hear what your favourite Scrapbooking or card making site is for inspiration on the net. Please provide a link in your post. Next Sunday, April 26th, I will draw a name from those who have posted and we can then make arrangements for me to get your prize to you.
Tomorrow is our monthly Scrapaholics crop and I'm hoping to get a few layouts done so I'll be sure to post what I accomplish tomorrow evening. Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Bookmarks
More Paper Flowers
Homemade Prima & Maya Road Flowers

So lately, I've been fascinated with how easy it is to mimick some of the more expensive embellishments out in Scrapbook land and just how much fun it is to actually create them! Youtube has some fabulous resources for just this type of thing. You really should check it out! I learned how to make my own Prima lollipop and Maya Road felt flowers from Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. Her Prima Flower video can be found here and her Maya Road video can be found here. Have fun and happy creating!

Some Easter Cards
Simple Birthday Presents
Emily has a birthday party to go to today for some good friends and when we were at Michaels the other day, we looked through their dollar bins and Emily picked out some cute little notebooks and matching boxes with the girl's initials on them. She found some fun little treats to fill them with and I added the twine and scallop punch with my new Elzybells birthday snail stamp. I thought they turned out really cute and were super easy to make! We already had a lovely dinner with the girls where we gave them their "real" birthday presents. These were just a little treat to bring to the party. They'd make cute little goody bags too don't ya think?

Coaster Ornament
I've been wanting to try to make one of these ever since I saw the adorable Christmas ones Kerry made and shared on her blog. Can you imagine all the possibilities?! I picked up a cheap little pack of coasters in one of Michaels dollar bins and am just recovering them. I think there are about 20 in a pack. Super cheap and super fun to make!
My First Heritage Albums
Here are a few of the layouts that I completed at my retreat last weekend. In all, I made two albums for my folks. One is composed of photos from my parents generation and of them growing up and the other is after they got married and of me as a young girl. I'm really happy with how they turned out. I think my parents will love them. In total I finished over 50 8x8 pages! I still can't believe how much I got done. I still want to decorate the box that holds the albums but I just haven't decided what I want to do yet. Both albums are made from a yummy Cosmo Cricket kit. I used a few Prima flowers and other embellishments but the majority of the albums are Cosmo Cricket. Thanks for stopping by!
