A Couple Creations

I haven't had much time to create these past several weeks. Having a sore back certainly hasn't helped much either as it's hard to sit for any real length of time but I did manage to create a couple fun little projects for some dear friends who recently celebrated their birthdays.

First, I had a ton of fun making this crown for my good friend Sue. We all got together and surprised her during an evening at her beautiful home. Here are a few pics:

 

Jo made this lovely box to house her gift from all the girls.

For my good friend Whitney's birthday, I took her to the Hotel Vancouver for High Tea. It was lovely! I decided to create a mixed media card for her birthday instead of my usual style. Working on a smaller canvas was actually a lot of fun!

A Special Card for a Special Someone

I made this card today for my sister-in-law who is celebrating a big birthday this week. I used Stampin' Up's Summer Smooches DSP for my card and was inspired by several cards on Pinterest. Thanks for stopping by.

Altered Cigar Box and Journal

My dear friend Izzy surprised me on HER birthday of all days with a cigar box that I could alter and I couldn't wait to get to work on it! Here's what I came up with. The notebook is just a cheap dollar store coiled notebook that I picked up ages ago. I decided to alter it to match and even made a pen to go with it. I think I'll use the notebook for all the quotes I love off Pinterest and practice my penmanship and creative printing. Thanks so much for the surprise Izzy! I love how it turned out! More please lol

Our Portland Trip Smashed

I picked up the Large Smash Journal and thought it would be perfect for our trip to Portland. I had fun adding photos and souvenirs as we explored the city. The large Smash journals have tons of little pockets and envelopes you can add goodies to. I brought my little Canon Selphy printer and it was so much fun to be able to take the memory card from my camera and scrap my photos the same day!

Back from Portland

What a fabulous trip we had to Portland! I'm still amazed at how much we were able to pack in! Portland is such a green city. The public transportation is wonderful! We stayed at Kennedy School House which was a ton of fun and very different. The rooms were really large, clean and comfortable. The hotel had 3 theme bars and a couple restaurants, all of which were very good.

We toured 23rd Avenue and the Pearl District, the rose gardens, Council Crest, Powel's Book Store and took the tram to enjoy the view of the city. We dined at some funky little bistros and enjoyed a lovely dinner at the well known Jake's Famous Crawfish House. We even got lucky at Voodoo donuts and didn't have to wait in line which apparently is almost unheard of! We'll definitely be going back. I'd love to spend a few days just at Kennedy School House alone. Maybe a scrapbooking weekend girls?!
