I Guess I Really do Have a Style...

About 2 weeks ago, I started a page in soft pastel and neutral colours in my art journal. Well, it hasn't come a long very far. It's a nice background but I just can't seem to figure out what to do with it. Since I started it, I have created 3 more spreads, all in bright vibrant colours. Yep, that's me. I guess I really do have a style after all. I've been experimenting a lot with art journalling over the past year and a bit and when I look back, almost all, yep, ALL of my pages are super bright and colourful! So, here's my style....juicy rich bright happy colours. I'll get back to that pretty soft pastel page one of these days, but for now, this is where my heart takes me. Thanks for stopping by to visit!
Lots of layers in this piece. I used my Golden acrylics, Dylusions inks and Tim Holtz Distress Paints. I'm finding a new fun way to use my stencils too, not just for my ink but for tracing with and for my acrylic paints too. Fun, fun, fun!
This layout is mostly done using my Dylusions inks in monochromatic colours. I added a bit of sparkle using my Lumiere paints and some glitter on my butterflies.
More Dylusions here and a bit of acrylic paint along with some of my Derwent Inktense pencils for the circles. I used a cut out from a magazine for a mask to make my figure on the left. I'm a big fan of Dina Wakley and was lucky enough to take a class with her. I get a lot of inspiration from her work and just recently bought her book Art Journal Freedom. Check it out! It's awesome, I highly recommend it. I'm kinda liking the monochromatic theme lately. Can you tell?
