January 09 Summary Layout for Project 365

Well, this took me literally hours to make. I am sure there must be an easier way but I don't use Photoshop so I had to resize each photo and lay it on top of the template instead of sliding it underneath. Anyway, I'm happy with how it turned out. I'm going to make a summary of each month for my album along with each week's layouts with corresponding journalling. I'm really enjoying this project and think it's going to be so much fun to look back on an entire year of photos day by day. Thanks for stopping by!

Copics...So Many Uses!

One of my favourite podcasts that I subscribe to is Christine's with Scraptime. She reviews the greatest and latest products and has great tips and tricks. Check out the link below for the little video. I think all you Copic lovers will love this idea!

Feeling Creative...

I played around with my SU DSP papers and stamps today and came up with this design. I wanted to make something with a little more dimension than I usual do. I think my SU demonstrator extrodinaire, Sue F will even be impressed as it has 8 layers! lol

Supply List:

Stamps: Big Flowers
Ink: Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Certainly Celery SU Markers
Paper: Certainly Celery, So Saffron Cardstock, Spring Fling DSP
Other: So Saffron ribbon, Certainly Celery brads, paper piercing tool, scallop and ticket punch, pop dots, bling

Week 8 LO for Project 365

I had fun playing around with this layout. I finally found a template that I could actually use with Microsoft Picture It. I can't use the kind that is one solid image. I need ones that works like a digital Quick Page where the photo spots are transparent and I can lay the template over top of my background. If anyone knows where I might be able to find these kinds of templates, especially for the 365 Project, I'd love to hear about it! Thanks for stopping by!

Time to Catch Up....

It's been a busy couple weeks and I really haven't had much time to blog. I completed the 55 wedding thank you cards for my girlfriend Debbie and also finished my birthday card swap with my Scrapaholics group. I also completed my first aid recertification for work and can now come up for some air. On Sunday I went to our monthly Scrapaholics crop and had lots of fun. We really do have such a fabulous group of women in our group. Timberline is just over a month away and I'm really looking forward to it!

I'm posting a few pictures of what I've been working on the past couple weeks. First, is a picture of the thank you cards I made for my girlfriend's wedding. Second, the cards I made for the kid's birthday card swap with the Scrapaholics. Thanks so much Sue and Izzy for helping me put them together at the crop. I won't ever leave it to the last minute again! lol I really appreciate you guys jumping in to help me put them all together! And, last, a photo of all the cards from our swap. Everyone did such a great job! I love them all!

Stamp Club at Sue's Today

I went to my monthly SU Stamp Club at Sue's today. It was a great class as always! Sue C, Colleen and Pat were there today as well as myself. Here are the cards we made. I learned a new window technique that was very cool but I'm definitely going to need a little practice! Don't ya just love the picture I took of our crazy SU demonstrator Sue! lol

A Trip to Stanley Park

On Saturday, Emily and I took a drive through Stanley Park and took a bunch of photos. Here are just a few of my favourites.

A Little Bit of Fun for my Blogging Buddies....

I was over at Christie's blog enjoying her newest card creations and saw a fun little tag game she was participating in and since I've always been tagged and never started a tag, I thought this one would be a fun one to tag some of my blogging buddies with. So here it goes...

Go to where you keep your photos, pick the 6th folder and the 6th picture in that folder and post it. Tell us about the photo and then tag 6 other people and tell them about it...have fun!

This is a photo of Emily in Kindergarten in a school play. She really didn't like being on stage as you can tell! Now she wants to be an actress! She looks so much more grown up now doesn't she?!

I'm tagging......
Izzy, Jo, Diane, Haley, Sue C., and Sue F

Tagged

Tag You're IT!

I was over at Haley's blog and she has posted a "25 random facts" post there today. If you read this, then you need to do this on your own blog too! Tag you're it. Have fun!

1. My favourite flower is the Peony - I just love the way it drops it's petals, so romantic.

2. I'm a big fan of Tim McGraw.

3. I have never lived higher than the 2nd floor in an apartment building and don't think I could.

4. I'm addicted to scrapbooking....duh, what a surprise eh?

5. I loathe crows!

6. I use to wake Andy Garcia up in the morning with "Good morning Mr. Garcia, this is your 6 am wake up call"

7. My daughter was born on our wedding anniversary AND to the song we walked down the aisle to! (and NO, we did not put it on, the surgeons did!)

8. I'll be married 19 years this year.

9. I can hold my breath for 73 seconds.

10. My favourite tv show was Third Watch. I watched every episode. Now it's House... when I do watch tv.

11. I had a cat name Saucer growing up and her mother's name was Teacup.

12. I'll always choose Red over White.

13. I once had a fortune teller tell me that I would live in a windy city surrounded by chickens. Go figure!

14. My favourite potato chip is Dill Pickle.

15. I use to play the clarinet.

16. I once mud wrestled with my girlfriend after too many martinis. Ok, maybe not competitive mud wrestling but falling down drunk mud wrestling looking for my cell phone LOL

17. I've never had the chickenpox.

18. My gay hair stylist dumped me because he found out I was unfaithfully having my hair coloured by another stylist....a woman.

19. My first car was an orange VW Bug. Loved that car!

24. I started skiing when I was three.

25. When I was about 10, I had a hornet fly up my nose after an outdoor swimming lesson. And.....OMG did it ever hurt! I clearly remember the first aid attendent having to pull it out with a pair of tweezers while my mom squeezed my hand and tried desperately to keep me from writhing around on the table!

Wow, can't believe I did it! Now, it's your turn, if you read this you need to put this on your page. It's a lot of fun. Leave me a comment so I know to check your page!

Now That's Snow!

A friend sent me these pictures of the snow in Saskatoon. Can you believe it? Ok, so maybe our snow wasn't that bad after all! lol I can honestly say though, that I remember my grandmother's back door being covered almost as high with snow in Montreal when I was about 6 years old. I even have a picture, taken from the outside. The snow is about 3/4s up the door! Maybe if I can find it somewhere, I'll post it here for you all to see.

A Gift for Teacher

Well, so far, I've managed to keep up with taking a photo a day and posting them on my Project 365 blog. We're already into February and I am looking forward to documenting another month of "every day" life. Here's a picture of a little gift I made today for Emily's teacher to thank her for all she does throughout the year. I used my new SU DSP Love Ya Much which came in this month's adorable little Valentine kit. Thanks Sue for cutting out this cute little basket to hold the strawberry daiquiri jelly beans!

Best Friends

What a great surprise to have my best friend Daphne visit me from Alberta this weekend! It's been two years since I've seen her so we had a lot of catching up to do. She may be living in cowboy country now, but she's never more than a phone call a way. Love ya babe!
